The Dayton Art Institute is a renowned midsized museum for the visual arts, featuring tens of thousands of objects covering a range of 5,000 years in world history. It occupies a Nationally Registered Italian Rennaisance-style building in downtown Dayton, on a hill overlooking the Great Miami River. The Institute's prominence was verified in 2005 when it was one of only 11 U.S. galleries to host the traveling Quest For Immortality, the largest collection of ancient artifacts ever to appear outside Egypt.
