The origins of the historic Patterson Homestead date back to the Revolutionary War, when it served as home to Colonel Robert Patterson and his family. Open to the public since 1975, it is now an invaluable tourist attraction offering visitors an excellent glimpse of Federal-period architecture and an interior stocked with old-fashioned furnishings and other antiques. It lies just south of the downtown area, next to the University of Dayton.
