Since that time, we have maintained one goal - to provide the finest quality service and food to our customers, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Oakwood Club uses the finest ingredients and products available. We carefully select only Midwestern beef that has been aged 21 days and meets our rigid specifications. Our well-marbled steaks are hand cut and expertly trimmed in our own kitchen, then broiled to perfection. Our seafood is flown in fresh daily, from the East, West and Florida coastlines. All stocks, soups, sauces, dressings, breads and most desserts are homemade. Our coffee is ground fresh daily using only 100% Costa Rican whole beans. We will try to assist your dietary needs - or culinary tastes - by preparing your meals according to your preferred cooking method. All of our cooking oil used in frying, sauteing, and salad dressings, are 0% in cholesterol and 0% in trans fats. Unbelieveably bad treatment

Posted by kal449 on 1/9/2006

My wife and I went to the Oakwood Club 1/7/06. There was a 2 hourwat - we were happy to sit at the bar. Two ladies arrived 20 minutes after we did and sat at the bar. After 90 minutes, the ladies ( regulars / friends of the owner) were seated - we weren't. I paid my tab, expressed my dissatisfaction to the bartender and left. The bartender apologized but no effort was made to correct the situation. I had heard stories of mistreatment of "non-regulars" but we had never experienced the problem - possibly because we had been with regulars on other occaisions. If a restaurant is not going to take reservations they should make every effort to ensure customers are taken in order. I will tell everyone I know how I was treated. Their reputation for treating non-regulars in a shoddy manner is well deserved.

Not unless you are from Oakwood

This establishment is typical of a place that forgot what made them good. They survive off their following, which is very good. Unfortunately their following and service are the only mentionables. The wait on the weekends is terrible. The cost of the food would be about right if it was as good as everyone says. The only items on the menu that rank are the prime rib and a few select appetizers. Dayton has a hard time keeping good restaurants and has lost better ones than this.

Not As Overpriced As You Think - Well Worth IT!

We've been hearing about how overpriced and snooty the Oakwood Club is since we moved from Nebraska in October. I guess we should have evaluated the class of the sources before letting months go by before we tried it ourselves. The decor is rich and inviting, while maintaining a secluded feeling for diners. The food was perfection, as well as the service. My husband and I now visit frequently during the week for a nice, quick supper under $40. The bar is exquisitite and has the best selection of liquor in Dayton.
